Louisa Link-McDowell is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC).
The idea for TherapyCouch came to her while she was working for a rural, non-profit community center.
“I would see people who had been suffering from the effects of sexual abuse and trauma for years – simply because they didn’t have access to traditional therapy. In a small town where you know everyone and everyone knows you… no one wants to talk about mental health and abuse. Combined with the time commitment and cost of therapy – these people were suffering and nothing was going to change. I thought, ‘This is a universal problem – there must be better way for people to take that first step.’”
In addition to her work as a therapist, Louisa has been advising Fortune 500 companies and major healthcare organizations for the past 25 years. She received a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Brigham Young University.
She is dedicated to helping people achieve greater well-being and improved mental health, and uses a variety of tools and theories in her therapy work. Clients appreciate her calm, upbeat approach. As a therapist, she has a style that is inclusive and motivating. Louisa is married and has two children. She enjoys running with her dog and volunteering in her community.
