IS THERE SUCH A THING AS “GOOD” GRIEF?
When someone close to us dies we’re often flooded with emotions: anger, regret, relief, sadness, fear, lonliness… just to name a few. When we combine these powerful, often conflicting emotions we call it “grief.”
And yes, there is a “bad” grief, and a “good” grief…
Grief is a natural and normal part of life. But just because it’s natural and normal doesn’t make it any easier to experience.
Statistically, December, January and March are the months that have the most deaths. Cold, hard winters take their toll on all of us. But with spring around the corner, there is hope ahead. And that’s an important thing to remember about grief… there is hope. You can cope with your grief in a way that brings hope and relief.
Grief, left unresolved, can fester and lead to depression. That’s the “bad” grief.
